The Witcher is a fantasy novel series written by Andrzej Sapkowski is a collection of five novels (the witcher saga), 15 short stories that are combined in The Last wish and Sword of Destiny, and the stand-alone novel Season of Storm.

This series describes a ‘witcher’ around a monster. Geralt the Witcher revered and hated holds the line against the monsters plaguing humanity in this collection of adventures in the New York Times bestselling series that inspired the blockbuster video games. The video games have been even more successful, with more than 50 million copies sold as of May 2020.

The Witcher books have been translated into 37 languages. As of 2019, over 15 million copies are sold of the series worldwide.

The Last wish

The Last Wish is a collection of separate short stories. The Polish edition of The Last Wish was originally published after Sword of Destiny. Sword of Destiny

Sword of Destiny is the second volume and also a collection of short stories about the adventures of the witcher Geralt of Rivia which was published before The Last Wish but in reading order, it comes after The Last Wish.

Geralt’s close friends the bard Dandelion and the sorceress Yennefer who were introduced in The Last Wish are here in this volume.

Sword of Destiny also features young Ciri, whose fate will be bound to Geralt forever, and who appears in all of the following volumes.
